A word from Sister Philis

ARE YOU READY TO STAND UP AND FIGHT?

Macomb County is in organized chaos!    The Democrats who have been the majority on the board as well as the chairperson since the first board was elected have caucused and formulated a plan to create organized chaos.  Make no mistake about this —– they are in control and they intend to stay that way no matter what they have to do to achieve this objective.

You might ask why they would put this county in such jeopardy on purpose.  They want a County Executive and lots fewer commissioners.   All county wide elected servants are Democrats.  They figure that the County Executive will ultimately be a Democrat also.  If they have 13 commissioners, the lines will be drawn so that we will only have two or three Republican commissioners.

What do the Democrats intend to achieve besides putting a county executive in charge of the county?  Power —– of course they intend to give the chosen commissioners the appointments to the executive’s cabinet, department head jobs, and those left will continue to be commissioners.  Most of them won’t have to run for office ever again and will have salaries and benefits forever.  Nice gig if you can get it don’t you think!

Four years ago we were the best run county with the lowest millage rate and best services of any county in the state and in the top 10 of the entire nation.  We had a $64 million rainy day fund and we have an AAA bond rating.  But organized chaos blew us away.

They are on the march ladies and gentlemen.  They intend to achieve their goal.  If we let this happen they will control the county for the next 25 years.  Can you afford this?  Wayne County with its 15 commissioners and 56 staffers and County Executive and his nine staffers spends $13 ½ million for salaries and benefits.  With 26 commissioners and nine staffers in total we spent 2 ½ million.

Stand up and fight!  We can’t allow our county to become a socialist county.  It is your duty to stand vigilant over our Constitutional Republic form of government.  What legacy do you intend to leave your children and grandchildren?

UPDATED INFO:  The budget committee is going to set a millage rate on the 25th.  On April 28 they are going to hold a public hearing to discuss the millage rate and then they will officially adopt it.  FYI
