Fellow Macomb County Republicans,
There is a REVolution coming to the Michigan Young Republicans.
When our current Young Republican (YR) State Chair, Stuart Foster, won Midwest Vice-Chairman at the recent YR Convention, he made it known he wanted to focus on building the Midwest as he had built Michigan. To continue the momentum Stuart has started in the state, and with his blessing, I decided to run in succeeding him as state Chair. During my four years in the Macomb YRs, I have shown my dedication in growing the next generation of Republican leadership, not just here in Macomb County but also statewide during my two years as National Committeeman for the Michigan YRs.
I am proud of our accomplishments in Macomb and beyond. In four years we grew the Macomb YRs from three members to close to 100 members now. At the state level, we’ve built a broader base of membership, growing the Michigan YRs from two clubs to a dozen with more growing right now. Nationally, we were recognized at convention as a finalist for Small Club of the Year and individually I have been appointed to Chair one of the Young Republican National Federations’s standing committees.
As this is about building a winning team, I have identified five outstanding candidates for other Michigan YR offices. These candidates will be announced over the next month on Facebook, Twitter and at our website www.rev4chair.com.
During my tenure as Chair, I intend to continue our growth by expanding to 25% of the state’s counties by building a comprehensive education program for YR candidates, and campaign managers. Also, we will aggressively bid to host the 2013 Young Republican National Convention, an event which Detroit has not hosted since the 1950s. We are not just the candidates and leaders of tomorrow, but of today.
